Much to tell, friends. So much, in fact, that I’ll have to let the book itself tell the tale. This past Thursday, April 12, our publisher listed “Powerful Peace; A Navy SEAL’s Lessons on Peace from a Lifetime at War” for pre-order at Amazon. By Friday morning (the 13th!) Powerful Peace had risen to “Bestseller” status among all titles available for pre-order. That same afternoon, our publisher sent the phenomenal news that it had risen to #1 in the Category, “War & Peace in Current Events.” Keep in mind that this category includes not only pre-order, but ALL titles. We were on top of all available books in the category.
In less than 24 hours, Powerful Peace became a literal Overnight Success! One of the coolest things about this entire project, to me, is the planning and evolution of this book, from idea to fruition, and what it tells you about a SEAL — It helps me appreciate even more the capabilities of a Navy SEAL, in terms of mind, body, and spirit. This project requires that entire package of skills and energy, and Rob D is mastering it. His team building skills bring it all together. Being part of that team is an honor and a highlight of my career in the world of words. I turn 60 in June and feel I am just hitting my stride professionally. It pays to hang out with younger, awesome colleagues and friends!

I have always been confident it would be well-received, and across all segments of society…but the demand so intense that it slammed into to #1 in Amazon Category in under one day? That is awesome in the dictionary sense of the word.

I was fortunate enough to read this manuscript a few months ago, and let me tell you, it is well worthwhile– regardless of what your personal politics are. Rob writes as he acts: thoughtful, balanced, caring, and strong. Keep your eyes out for a ‘real’ review soon!
This book and its author have inspired me in ways I thought impossible. I am honored and humbled to be counted lucky enough to have been touched by this masterpiece.
