A few weeks ago I was thrilled, and a little confused, to receive Tony Robbins’ invitation to attend his “Unleash the Power Within” weekend event here in San Jose. Now I’m settling into the front row of the convention center and eager to see what unfolds. As you in the first wave of readers are aware, Tony’s endorsement is displayed prominently on the back cover of Powerful Peace. From my exchanges with him and that amazing blurb he gave I knew he liked the material in our “game-changing book on peacemaking”…but I still couldn’t figure why he’d invite me personally.
So I picked up a copy of his book and started reading. It quickly became apparent that Tony can see more in most people than they can see in themselves. In fact, I’m pretty sure yours truly falls into the category of unrealized potential.
This may sound strange to those of you who know me. I’ve been called an optimist, unstoppable, hyperactive, even an idealist…and I’ve never been accused of having limited vision. But like you, I’m watching this small story go big on the world stage.
Powerful Peace was only released two weeks ago, and it’s being adopted across societies! We’re sending copies to Britain, Serbia and Taiwan. An American high school teacher is building her next year’s curriculum on the book. A Canadian hijabi (Muslim lady who wears a headscarf) friend is successfully implementing our principles to help her special education students work through conflict in the classroom. Tech companies are buying cases to get their programmers to “open the aperture” and tackle tricky problems in unusual ways. Reader after reader is saying, “I can’t put it down!”
We’re getting appearance requests from youth organizations, government agencies, think tanks, media outlets and faith groups. And we haven’t even got the www.PowerfulPeace.net Upcoming Appearances tab sorted out yet, but you can still get signed copies at the site!
So I’ve learned this about myself: though broad-minded, my mind is in no way broad enough (yet) to capture all this is becoming. The purpose of Powerful Peace is greater than ANY of us can yet imagine. It almost seems like we’ve let a thoroughbred out of the stable a little too early…and we’re trying to get the halter on him at a gallop!
But I know this, too: I will dive into Tony’s power and ideas. And after this weekend I will stretch, and listen to you, and humble down, and do whatever it takes to become strong enough to guide this potential. I promise to hang on, and grow myself as fast a possible, and continue to welcome the world-class support so many I you have provided to get us to this launchpad.

That is awesome! Tony is one of my heros and I am looking forward to being right where you are one day…..right on the front row! How exciting!
It is a great experience, Liz. Not the kind I expected, either. I believe I came here with some excess ego about my awareness and abilities. This is helping me right-size (not necessarily “down-”, but “right-”) and I always consider that a real blessing.
