#ASOPP Post of the Day 42 of 90: Teaming with Veterans for Smart Power

Had a great first contact today with Brendan Flynn and his team at the Veterans for Smart Power initiative of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (on Twitter as @USGLC) here in downtown Washington, DC.

We spoke for a couple hours about their mission and the amazing symmetry between VSP and Powerful Peace. Surprisingly, neither had influenced the development of the other over the past few years…yet our core concepts are nearly identical. One gentlemen commented that as he was reading Powerful Peace, he had the sense I’d lifted their mission statement and used it in writing the book.

That’s the way it is with fundamental truths: they’re fundamentally the same.

We realized this is clearly the beginning of a long-term relationship, so you can expect to hear much more about teaming events and opportunities between the “applied smart power” SEAL and the Veterans for Smart Power.

  1. Great meeting! Looking forward to working together.

    • Thanks, Brendan! Plus One to that. I am so excited to see the synergy rising all over society for soldiers, scholars, statesmen and private citizens to feel this compulsion to work together for something better.

Not everybody calls it Smart Power, and not everybody has to; what’s important is that it’s beginning to get done.
